Homework is an important supplement to a child’s daytime education, if done properly. Parents must facilitate a child’s successful homework performance, and general education, by allocating a special time and place for it, and providing encouragement that bolsters the child’s drive to master the work and enrich his learning, and not see homework as an unnecessary and overly-challenging burden. Children should be encouraged to do as much as possible on their own, while able to approach parents for help when needed.
